Abstract The stepping motor (11) of the label dispenser is directly coupled to the drawing roller (7) which brings about the feed of the carrier strip (1) containing the labels. In order to keep the driving shaft of the stepping motor and the drawing roller (7) free never- theless from the undesirable resonance phenomena caused by vibrations of the motor armature, the driving shaft (12) of the motor (11) is directly coaxially coupled to the drawing roller (7) by means of an interposed elastic damping member (21). The damping member (21) has four through-holes (22), into which the driving pins (14, 15 and 19, 20 respec- tively) of the driving plates (13 and 18 respectively) on the motor side and the drawing-roller side protect. The direct drive is more favorable in terms of cost than the known toothed-belt drive and nevertheless keeps the drawing roller absolutely free from resonance pheno- mena. Moreover, the type of drive described permits higher labeling rates to be achieved. (Figs 1 and 2)
