ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A labelling machine having a rotating carrier upon which is eccentrically mounted at least one removal element with a curved pick-up surface. The removal element rotates on a drive shaft at a point between the curved pick-up surface and the centre of curvature. The drive means comprises a stationary sun-gear engaging a pinion attached to the drive shaft through a cam-controlled differential drive including a cam with a varying slope and sensing element. As a result only a light load is applied on the differential drive thus reducing wear.
