Abstract of the Disclosure A labelling station has at least one pick-up element pivotably or rotatably mounted to receive labels which are to be applied one above the other to objects such as bottles, and also has a gripper cylinder carrying gripper and pressure elements for the upper and lower labels arranged eccentrically upon a rotating carrier and tangentially to the peripheral path of the pick-up element. The said labels are transferred by the said gripper and pressure elements to bottles moving along a track, the label areas of the bottles being at different distances from the axis of the gripper cylinder. With synchronism between the lower and upper pressure elements and the relevant areas to be labelled, the upper and lower gripper elements, and the upper and lower pressure elements, are arranged upon separate carrier parts arranged one above the other and eccentrically of each other, the carrier parts rotate at the same angular velocity, the peripheral path of the pressure elements being eccentrically displaced in relation to the peripheral path of the gripper elements tangential to the peripheral path of the pick-up elements, in such a manner that it touches the path of movement of the areas to be labelled. The radius is such that, in the labelling area, the track speed of the pressure elements and of the areas to be labelled are equal.
