A method of producing self-adhesive labels carried on a release backing material is described. This method provides a plurality of self-adhesive carrier labels across the width of a web of carrier substrate with at least one discrete label components, such as a leaflets, booklets, holograms and security devices, being applied to each respective carrier label. The invention provides a plurality of separate label component applicators across the width of the web, one for each respective label component to be applied. There is also provided a registration means to ensure registration of each label component with its respective carrier label. In this way the method provides for the manufacture of multi-layered combinations of individual labels to a base carrier using separate and specific component applicators for each label across the width of the web.

L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'étiquettes autocollantes (1) placées sur un matériau de support amovible. Ce procédé permet d'obtenir une pluralité d'étiquettes autocollantes sur la largeur d'une bande substrat de transport avec au moins un composant d'étiquette discret (20), par exemple un feuillet, un livret, un hologramme ou un dispositif de sécurité, appliqué sur chaque étiquette. L'invention concerne également une pluralité d'applicateurs de composants d'étiquettes séparés sur la largeur de la bande, un pour chaque composant d'étiquette à appliquer. L'invention concerne également des moyens (16) d'enregistrement garantissant l'enregistrement de chaque composant d'étiquette avec son étiquette correspondante. Le procédé de l'invention permet ainsi de fabriquer des combinaisons à couches multiples d'étiquettes individuelles et d'un support de base à l'aide d'applicateurs de composants séparés et spécifiques pour chaque étiquette placée sur la largeur de la bande.
