The present invention pertains to strains of lactic acid bacteria capable of reducing an individual's tendency to react allergic against a variety of different allergens. In particular, the present invention relates to recombinant strains of lactic acid bacteria that express surface polypeptides which include peptides or antibody fragments acting as mimic for at least a part of the Fc region of IgE-molecules. The invention also pertains to food or pharmaceutical compositions containing said micro-organisms or active fractions thereof.

L'invention concerne de nouvelles souches de bactéries lactiques, capables de réduire la tendance d'un individu à réagir de manière allergique à toute une gamme d'allergènes divers. L'invention concerne en particulier des souches recombinées de bactéries lactiques qui expriment des polypeptides de surface comprenant des fragment de peptides ou d'anticorps lesquels agissent comme des analogues d'au moins une partie de la région F¿c? des molécules d'IgE. L'invention concerne en outre des compositions alimentaires ou pharmaceutiques contenant lesdits micro-organismes ou des fractions actives de ceux-ci.
