A ladder assembly comprising a mounting section to be connected to a boat, and a ladder section which is removably connected to the mounting section. The ladder section has an end connector comprising two oppositely extending connecting fingers that are releasably positioned in horizontal slots formed in two . spaced mounting plates of the mounting section. To remove the ladder section from the mounting section, the ladder section is rotated upwardly to a vertically extending position, and then rotated about the elongate axis of the ladder assembly to remove the connecting fingers from the slots. To reconnect the ladder section to the mounting section, the connecting end of the ladder section is positioned within the mounting plates and rotated to bring the connecting fingers into engagement with the slots, after which the ladder section is lowered in an arcuate path to its operating position.
