A joinery clip for joining adjacent panels or floor sections that have been positioned in abutting relationship. The panels and floor sections have grooves or channels formed along and in close proximity to the edges of their bottom surfaces. The joinery clip comprises a body portion, a first flange section extending away from the body portion, and a second flange section spaced from the first flange section and extending away from the body portion. The first and second flange sections each have a barb configured to be received in the channel of one of the adjacent panels or floor sections. Each of the barbs has a tang portion that prevents ready removal of the barb when received in the channel of one of the adjacent panels or floor sections. The invention is further directed to a method of installing a floor.
