LAMINATED DISPOSABLE FOOD-SERVING ARTICLES AND METHOD FOR MAKING THEM ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention consists of an improved method for making laminated food-serving articles. The method provided includes the steps of printing and varnishing one surface of a thin web of paper. It further includes the steps of adhering this thin web to a thick backing web and forming the article. The forming procedure includes moistening the composite web or laminate to make it pliable, cutting it to the desired pattern, and deforming it to the shape desired for the article by the simultaneous action of heat and pressure. The article provided includes a thin top layer. One surface of this layer has an inked pattern and a varnish covering applied to it for decoration and liquid proofing, respectively. For added strength and rigidity and increased thickness, the article also includes a thick backing or bottom layer bound to the thin paper layer by a layer of adhesive.
