Disclosed is a laminate including a first cover layer, a planar structure having perforations as an intermediate layer and a second cover layer as well as process for the manufacture thereof and the use of a laminate as liquid acquisition and distribution layer in the form of a nonwoven laminate oriented in Z direction for use in absorbent hygienic articles. A three dimensional shape is achieved in that the planar structure is present in a contracted condition or is brought into that condition.
