ABSTRACT By using a hot melt adhesive sheet a fabric is adhered to at least one side of an air cell sheet of po- lyethylene after radiation with .beta.-or .gamma.-rays. The mate- rial combines great strength and flexibility with good thermal insulating ability and low weight together with great and permanent buoyancy in water.
