The present invention is a laminate article comprising at least three layers of plasticized polyvinylbutyral (PVB) sheet, wherein at least one layer of the laminate is a stiff PVB sheet and at least two layers are soft PVB sheets. A laminate article of the present invention is useful for providing increased protection from damages occurring to automobiles, buildings, and windows by virtue of exposure of same to, for example, hurricane force winds, impact from debris propelled by high-force winds, or by intentional impact against windows comprising the laminates of the present invention.
Article stratifié qui comporte au moins trois couches sous forme de feuilles de polyvinylbutyral (PVB) plastifié, au moins une couche dudit stratifié étant une feuille de PVB rigide et au moins deux couches étant des feuilles de PVB souples. Un article stratifié selon la présente invention est utile pour fournir une protection accrue contre les dommages subis par les automobiles, les bâtiments et les fenêtres en raison de leur exposition, par exemple, à des vents ayant la force d'un cyclone, aux chocs produits par des débris propulsés par des vents d'une très grande force, ou à des chocs intentionnels contre des fenêtres comportant les stratifiés selon la présente invention.
