Abstract of the Invention This invention is directed to the production of laminated, transparent, polarizing glass articles. The inventive method contemplates five basic steps: (1) forming parallel microgrooves on a surface of a glass support; (2) washing and drying said surface; (3) depositing on said surface a mixture of organic colorants corresponding to the three primary colors and exhibiting a nematic state to yield a coating displaying polarizing properties; (4) treating the polarizing coating with an aqueous solution of inorganic salts having an acid pH; and (5) applying a continuous, optically transparent, composite film upon the polarizing coating and bonding it thereto.
