-- Abstract of the Disclosure A two bulb lamp socket is provided with a housing which defines a first recess and first and second insertion openings below the recess. An inversion mechanism for switching bulbs on and off is located in the recess. Each insertion opening is provided with a contact in the upper central portion of the open- ing, and with a side contact on the sides of the openings, Each opening is provided with an insulated engaging means for mechani- cally engaging a bulb which is screwed into the opening.
