A lancet assembly has a holder and a lancet structure incorporated with the holder. The lancet structure contains a lancet member having a pricking member and an ejector that ejects the lancet member. The exposed portion of the pricking member is covered with a resin. A lancet body and a covered pricking member can have portions mating with each other so that the lancet body and the covered pricking member tightly engage each other. At least one notch can be provided in the covered pricking member. The covered pricking member can contain two pairs of stops on its outside.
