The present invention relates to a land mine destroying and disabling system. The system is comprised of a mine destroying and disabling device, a portable support unit and a rocket motor. The mine destroying and disabling device includes an array of collapsible members adaptable to receive an explosive composition, a resilient cable attaching the array to the rocket motor and a receiving member in connection between the array and the support unit. In a first position, the array of collapsible members is stowed about the support unit in an empty and collapsed configuration. In a second position, the array of collapsible members is launched from the support unit and extends in a collapsed configuration across an area of ground to be removed from the dangers of land mines and is in a configuration to receive an explosive composition. In this second position, an explosive-filled array can be detonated to produce a uniform pressure and impulse across an area to disable and destroy any land mines contained therein.
