The invention relates to a lanolin substitute that can absorb up to at least twice the weight thereof in water, aqueous solution or aqueous suspension. The inventive lanolin substitute forms real emulsions which are stable over time and which have a water-retention power greater than that of lanolin. Said substitute also possesses the emollient, hydrating and occlusive properties of lanolin. The lanolin substitute can be used in all current and future lanolin fields of application: cosmetics, dermatology, industrial applications (polishes, lubricants, etc.), etc. The aforementioned substitute is obtained by means of hemisynthesis using a mixture of unsaturated fatty acids, unsaturated fatty acid esters, unsaturated hydrocarbons or unsaturated derivatives of same with compounds that comprise or generate hydroxyl functions, such as glycerol, preferably without a catalyst and in an oxygen-deprived atmosphere. The inventive method is performed by means of standard heat treatment or, preferably, dielectric heating.
La presente invention propose un substitut de lanoline, capable d'absorber jusqu'a au moins deux fois son poids en eau ou solution aqueuse ou suspension aqueuse. II forme de reelles emulsions, stables dans le temps avec un pouvoir de retention d'eau superieur a celui de la lanoline.Il possede egalement les proprietes emollientes, hydratantes et occlusives connues de la lanoline.Ce substitut est utilisable dans tous les domaines d'application actuels et futurs de la lanoline: en cosmetique, dermatologie, et en applications industrielles (cirages, lubrifiants...)... Il est obtenu par hemi-synthese a partir d'un melange d'acides gras insatures, d'esters d'acides gras insatures, d'hydrocarbures insatures ou de derives insatures de ces derniers et de composes comportant ou generant des fonctions hydroxyles, comme le glycerol, de preference sans catalyseur et dans une atmosphere depourvue d'oxygene.Traitement thermique classique ou de preference par un chauffage dielectrique.
