The present invention relates to a third electrode (104) for use in a metal- air tricell (100, 200) comprising a support structure coated with a layer of a lanthanum nickel compound/at least one metal mixture, wherein the mixture is adhered to the support structure without the use of an adhesive. The present invention relates to a metal-air tricell comprising an air electrode (102), a metal electrode (106), and the third electrode (104). Additionally, the present invention relates to a method of forming a third electrode, comprising the steps of: a) applying a mixture of a lanthanum nickel compound and at least one metal oxide to a support structure, and b) heating the coated support structure in order to reduce the metal oxide present in the lanthanum nickel compound/metal oxide mixture to its corresponding metal and to adhere the lanthanum nickel compound/metal mixture to the support structure.

La présente invention porte sur une troisième électrode (104) utilisée dans un accumulateur métal-air à trois cellules (100, 200) comprenant une structure support revêtue d'une couche d'un mélangé constitué d'un composé de nickel-lathane et d'au moins un métal, ledit mélange étant fixé à la structure support sans utilisation d'adhésif. Cette invention concerne un accumulateur métal-air à trois cellules comportant une électrode oxydoréductrice (102), une électrode métallique (106), et une troisième électrode (104). La présente invention a, en outre, trait à un procédé relatif à l'élaboration d'une troisième électrode. Ce procédé consiste: (A) à appliquer un mélange constitué d'un composé de nickel-lathane et d'au moins un oxyde métallique sur la structure support, et (B) à chauffer la structure support revêtue afin de réduire l'oxyde métallique présent dans le mélange constitué du composé de nickel-lathane et de l'oxyde métallique pour obtenir son métal correspondant, et de fixer ledit mélange sur la structure support.
