A device (100) and method for achieving localised hypothermia during laparoscopic surgery comprises a sheath portion (101) in the form of a flexible bag-like shape which is shaped and sized so that it substantially surrounds the organ of interest in use. The sheath portion (101) comprises walls, each consisting of at least a first inner layer and a second outer layer which define a space therebetween into which catheters (104a, b) deliver and remove cooled fluid to provide a cooling effect to the organ.

L'invention a pour objet un dispositif (100) et un procédé pour réaliser une hypothermie localisée au cours d'une intervention de chirurgie laparoscopique, comprenant une partie gaine (101) de type sachet souple configurée et dimensionnée de manière à entourer sensiblement l'organe traité. La partie gaine (101) comprend des parois dont chacune consiste en une ou plusieurs premières couches internes et en une seconde couche externe définissant un espace entre elles que des cathéters (104a, b) remplissent et vident de liquide refroidi afin de rafraîchir l'organe traité.
