The method includes performing a laparoscopy, inserting a plurality of retraction device introducers (16) through the body wall (28), fixing a like plurality of retraction devices (14) to the body wall by means of the retraction device introducers (16), fixing the body organ (11) to the interior surface of the body wall (28) and inserting a tube (42) through the body wall into the organ (11); and fixing the tube (42) to the organ (11). In two applications, the method may be used with gastrostomy or jejunostomy.
