This invention relates to an improved collar for germents, primarily shirts and blouses, when a garment is worn under a jacket, sweater, sweater coat or similar wearing apparel, which improvement consists of each side of the collar having one or more openings such as indentations, notches, slits or slots in the bottom edge of the outer collar to permit passage of the lapels of the jacket or the neck of the sweater, sweater coat or similar wearing apparel through the collar thus allowing the tabs of the collar to be worn outside of and folded against the lapels of the jacket or the neck portion of the sweater, sweater coat or similar wearing apparel, and the rear portion of the collar to be worn underneath the jacket, sweater, sweater coat or similar wearing apparel, all without any undue crumpling of the collar and creating a neat appearance.
