A laptop computer mouse pad for attaching to the housing of a laptop computer has a base having two generally flat sides and two edge sides and sized to fit under a laptop computer. The base has an elongated slot extending therethrough between the two edge sides. An elongated platform is shaped to slidably fit into said base elongated slot through the opening in either end of the two edge sides so that the platform can be inserted into the base elongated side from either edge for either a left or right handed person. The elongated platform has a handle formed on one end to block the end from sliding into the base slot and for gripping to move the elongated platform between positions. Fastening means, such as hook and loop attaching material, can be used to attach the base to the laptop computer so that the laptop has an extendable mouse pad useful by either left or right handed computer users. The laptop computer mouse pad can also be permanently attached to or formed as part of the laptop computer housing.
