ABSTRACT A large area board-shaped device such as a concrete form work panel has its main direction of load perpendicular to its board plane. Each panel comprises a sandwich of at least three layers of material, the material of the middle layer having a coefficient of heat expansion substantially higher than the material of the other two layers. Either the middle layer of material or the other two layers of material is made of thermosetting plastic which sets at a temperature considerably above the working temperature of the device.
