The present invention pertains to the field of ink jet printers used for colour printing of large format articles. This invention is used for improving quality and for increasing the yield of printers and comprises successively applying primary colours, suppressing colour aberrations when printing a semi-transparent material on both sides, precisely positioning the head when printing an image on the substrate and eliminating the lines connecting the carriage to the systems supplying control signals, air and inks. To this end, the carriage with the jet heads is moved in one direction along a closed guiding rail which is fitted with a hatched ruler for precise positioning, wherein the heads will thus bypass the substrate on both sides while information is transmitted from the device control unit to the carriage using a radio transceiver. The printer can further be equipped with two independent and parallel substrate feeding systems for performing a one-sided printing on two substrates at the same time.

Cette invention se rapporte au domaine des imprimantes à jets d'encre servant à l'impression couleur d'articles de grand format. Cette invention permet d'améliorer la qualité de production et d'accroître le rendement des imprimantes, ceci grâce à l'application successive des couleurs primaires, à l'élimination des aberrations couleur lors d'une impression sur les deux côtés d'un matériau semi-transparent, au positionnement précis de la tête lors de l'impression d'une image sur le support, ainsi qu'à l'élimination des lignes reliant le chariot aux systèmes d'acheminement des signaux de commande, de l'air et des encres. A cette fin, le chariot comportant les têtes à jets se déplace dans une direction le long d'un rail de guidage clos qui comprend une règle hachurée servant au positionnement précis. Les têtes vont ainsi contourner le support sur ses deux côtés, tandis que la transmission des informations depuis l'unité de commande du dispositif vers le chariot se fait à l'aide d'un émetteur-récepteur radio. L'imprimante peut en outre être équipée de deux systèmes d'alimentation en support d'impression indépendants et parallèles, ce qui permet d'effectuer une impression sur un seul côté et sur deux supports en même temps.
