L'invention concerne une boîte aux lettres à mande ouver- ture verticale et à boîte réceptrice éloignée à grande capacité. Le dispositif comporte un capot (1) à ouverture verticale (2) et à volet mobile (4) contre la pluie,un ensemble gaine(6)- glissière(10)-déflecteur(11) pour guider et freiner le courrier dans sa course, un plateau (12) à l'intérieur de la boîte récep- trice (3) pour recevoir le courrier à plus d'un bras de l'ouver- ture, une suspension élastique (13) de ce plateau pour amortir la fin de course du courrier. Le dispositif selon l'invention est particulièrement destiné aux boîtes aux lettres de clôtures ajourées verticalement ou d' entrées d'immeubles à espace réduit.
