The invention concerns a system and a method for removal of deposits in an area of an optical element in contact with a liquid, defined as an optical interface, characterised in that it includes a pulsed laser source directed at the optical interface through the optical element, and where the laser source emits light at a wavelength that is absorbed by the deposits.
