There is provided a laser beam level which comprises a support structure and a laser beam emitting assembly which includes means for emitting a laser beam in a vertical Z plane. The emitting assembly is mounted in a pendulum-like fashion such that the structure is pivotable in both the X and Y horizontal planes to ensure true verticality of the laser beam. The device may also include an assembly for indicating when the laser beam is out of the vertical plane.
