The present invention relates to an apparatus for laser detection of explosive residue including a laser for generating a beam of coherent light, an optical scanning device, for scanning an object to be inspected, a detector for sensing temporal and spectral information of light emmitted from the impingement of the light beam on the object and generating a data aquisition signal, a data processing device for comparing the data aquisition signal with known patterns from explosive materials, and an alarm for signalling a match between the data aquisition signal and known explosive patterns. The detection method employing this apparatus provides the advantages that sampling can be conducted remotely and detection of explosive residue can be conducted more rapidly than according to prior art methods.
La présente invention a trait à un appareil pour la détection par laser de résidus explosifs comprenant un laser servant à produire un faisceau de lumière cohérente; un dispositif de balayage optique pour balayer un objet à inspecter; un détecteur pour analyser des données temporelles et spectrales sur la lumière émise à partir de la collision du faisceau lumineux sur l'objet et pour produire un signal d'acquisition des données; un dispositif de traitement des données pour comparer le signal d'acquisition des données avec des modèles connus concernant des matières explosives, et une alarme pour indiquer une correspondance entre le signal d'acquisition de données et les modèles connus concernant des explosifs.
