- 10 - Abstract of the Disclosure A method for fabricating a fuel injector nozzle is provided wherein a crystalline substrate is positioned in alignment with a laser having a wavelength absorbable by the substrate. The nozzle apertures are produced by the laser independently of the crystal lattice structure and thickness of the substrate. Preferably, a carbon dioxide laser and a single crystal sapphire substrate are used.
