Provided is a lithographic printing plate comprising a support substrate having disposed thereon an ablative-absorbing layer and, optionally, a durable, ink-accepting surface layer that is not ablative-absorbing. The ablative-absorbing layer contains a high weight per cent of an organic sulfonic acid component. The printing plate may further comprise a hydrophilic polymeric layer interposed between the ablative-absorbing layer and the substrate. The printing plate may also comprise a primer layer underlying the ablative-absorbing layer with an adhesion-promoting agent present in the primer layer. Also provided are methods of preparing such lithographic printing plates, and methods of preparing imaged lithographic printing plates from such lithographic printing plates by image-wise exposure to a laser and a subsequent cleaning step with water or with a cleaning solution.

L'invention se rapporte à une planche d'impression lithographique comportant un substrat de support sur lequel est disposée une couche absorbante-ablative et, éventuellement, une couche superficielle, durable, destinée à recevoir l'encre qui n'est pas absorbante-ablative. La couche absorbante-ablative contient un pourcentage élevé d'un composant organique de l'acide sulfonique. La plaque d'impression peut également comporter une couche polymère hydrophile intercalée entre la couche absorbante-ablative et le substrat. La plaque d'impression peut également comporter une couche d'apprêt sous-jacente à la couche absorbante-ablative, ladite couche d'apprêt contenant un agent favorisant l'adhésion. L'invention se rapporte également à des procédés de préparation de telles plaques d'impression lithographique, ainsi qu'à des procédés de préparation de plaques d'impression lithographique imagées à partir de telles plaques d'impression lithographique consistant à exposer toute l'image à un laser puis à procéder à une étape de nettoyage avec de l'eau ou une solution de nettoyage.
