A cooling head for attachment to a skin treatment laser has a metal body with a mount at one end for attachment to a laser head to secure the metal body to the head. A cooling surface at the other end is for application to a patient's skin and has an aperture therethrough. A bore extends from the mount through the body to the aperture in the cooling surface to allow a laser beam to be passed therethrough to a treatment area of the patient's skin. An extraction port enables removal of debris from the treatment area and for connection to a vacuum source. An optically transparent window is disposed in the body to allow the treatment area to be viewed. A cooling means (liquid flow heat exchanger, Peltier device) enables heat removal from the body in use in order to cool the cooling surface.

La présente invention concerne une tête de refroidissement se montant sur un laser dermatologique. Cette tête comporte un corps métallique dont l'une des extrémités est pourvue d'une monture permettant le montage sur une tête laser afin d'assujettir à la tête le corps métallique. L'autre extrémité est pourvue d'une surface de refroidissement qui vient s'appliquer sur la peau du patient et qui est traversée d'une ouverture. Un alésage partant de la monture traverse le corps et aboutit à l'ouverture dans la surface de refroidissement. Cet alésage permet de laisser passer le faisceau laser jusqu'à la zone de traitement de la peau du patient. Un orifice d'extraction, qui permet d'éliminer les débris de la zone de traitement est destiné à se raccorder à une source de dépression. Une fenêtre optiquement transparente est disposée dans le corps pour permettre l'observation de la zone de traitement. Un organe de refroidissement (échangeur thermique à courant de liquide, appareil à effet Peltier) permet, pendant le fonctionnement, d'évacuer du corps de la chaleur afin de refroidir la surface de refroidissement.
