Abstract: A latch and detent mechanism for use with a sliding tray mounted in a cabinet is disclosed. The meachnism includes a stationary detent bar having one or more detent slots, a latch bar that is pivotably coupled to the sliding tray with a finger at one end for engaging a detent slot to lock the tray in position and a handle at the other end for disengaging the finger to unlock the tray, and biasing means for urging the finger toward the detent slot.
