A folding walker is positively retained in its folded configuration with a latch. The legs of the walker arc pivotally connected to one another so that the walker may be collapsed into its folded configuration. The latch is provided adjacent to at least one of the pivot points. When the walker is collapsed into its folded configuration, the latch engages a portion of the structure on the opposing side of the pivot point. The latch is preferably spring loaded so that it is automatically engaged when the walker is collapsed and may be conveniently released with finger pressure.
