ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A latch needle for a textile machine including a latch displaceable in a longitudinal slot of a needle shank and pivotally mounted by means of a continuous bearing bore on two coaxial shaft stubs disposed at needle shank cheeks which laterally delimit the longitudinal slot. Each shaft stub projects into the longitudinal slot and comprises a separate cylindrical bolt which is inserted with a tight fit into a continuous bore in the associated needle shank cheek and is fixed therein so as to be secure against displacement.
