A method and apparatus are disclosed for retarding rotation of at least one wheel (11). The apparatus includes at least one braking member (13), a latch member (76) secured to the braking member and movable between a first position and a second position and a latch actuating member (80) arranged to determine the position in which said latch member is positioned. The braking member is movable into a braking position in which rotation of the at least one wheel is retarded when the latch member is in the second position.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant de retarder la rotation d'au moins une roue (11). L'appareil comprend au moins un élément de freinage (13), un élément de verrouillage (76) fixé à l'élément de freinage et pouvant être déplacé entre une première position et une seconde position, ainsi qu'un élément d'actionnement de verrouillage (80) conçu pour déterminer la position dans laquelle ledit élément de verrouillage est positionné. L'élément de freinage peut être déplacé dans une position de freinage dans laquelle la rotation de la ou des roues est retardée lorsque l'élément de verrouillage est dans la seconde position.
