A suspension control system (17) features a rigid V-shaped restraint (21) attached by its apex (23) to the center of the vehicle axle (15) and by the distal ends of its arms (25) to the vehicle frame (3). Each distal end of the restraint (21) attaches to the vehicle frame (3) by a mounting bracket (37) that is supported by both a vehicle frame side rail (5) and a frame cross member (7). In order to compensate for variations in suspension part dimensions that occur inadvertently during manufacture, shims (43) of varying width may be inserted between the mounting brackets (37) and the side rails (5) so as to adjust the lateral position of the restraint (21) and axle (15). By choosing proper shim widths, the restraint (21) and axle (15) may be laterally adjusted so that the vehicle frame (3) is centered between the wheels thus allowing the vehicle to track properly. Alternatively, a Watt linkage may be used in place of the V-shaped restraint.

Un système de commande de suspension (17) est constitué d'un bras de suspension (21) en V dont le sommet (23) est fixé au centre de l'essieu (15) du véhicule, et dont les extrémités distales des branches sont fixées (25) au châssis (3) du véhicule. Chaque extrémité distale de branche du bras de suspension (21) est fixée au châssis (3) du véhicule au moyen d'une console de fixation (37) qui est supportée par un longeron (5) et une traverse (7) du châssis. Pour compenser les variations des dimensions des pièces de suspension qui se produisent par mégarde pendant la fabrication, il est possible de monter entre les consoles de fixation (37) et les longerons (5) une cale d'épaisseur de largeur variable permettant de reprendre la position latérale du bras de suspension (21) et de l'essieu (15). En jouant sur la largeur des cales d'épaisseur, on arrive à régler latéralement le bras de suspension (21) et l'essieu (15) de façon à centrer le châssis (3) du véhicule entre les roues, conférant ainsi au véhicule une voie nominale. Selon une autre réalisation, on peut remplacer le bras de suspension (21) en V par un bras de type Watt.
