Abstract of Disclosure: "Laterally releasable front unit for a safety ski binding" A laterally releasable toe unit of a safety ski binding has a sole clamp which is pivotable about substantially vertical tilting axes provided on the binding housing and is pressed by a release spring against tilting surfaces defining the tilting axes . The angle .alpha. between the line of action of the release spring and the tilting axis is smaller than 90°, so that a force N is exerted on the sole clamp by the release spring which draws it downwardly.
