TITLE OF THE INVENTION: A PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF LATEX POLYMER SENSITIZED WITH STEROID-SERUM ALBUMIN CONJUGATE AND LATEX REAGENT OBTAINABLE BY THE PROCESS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Latex reagents for making quantitative assay of a variety of steroid hormones or metabolites thereof which are contained in body fluid or excreted fluid of human beings and a method for preparation of such reagents are disclosed. Each of the reagents comprises latex particles which are immunologically sensitized with a conjugate selected from a variety of steroid-serum albumin conjugate in which steroid to be detected is bonded with serum albumin in a very small ratio ranging from 0.5 to 7 moleoules per 1 molecule of the serum albumin used. Sensitization of latex particles with such conjugate is performed with a limited amount which is determined depending on the bonding ratio of steroid molecules per a molecule of serum albumin in the conjugate and particle size of the latex used. The latex reagents show very high sensitivity amounting to 0.2 - 0.04 n mole steroid equivalent/ml. - 1 -
