A lathe for turning a workpiece by means of a headstock and a tailstock includes a lathe bed having an elongate main support structure and bedrails extending along a side of the structure, these rails adjustably supporting the tailstock. Leg supports are provided at opposite ends of the support structure and two pivot connectors each join a respective one of the bed ends to a support leg. The bed can be pivoted about a horizontal axis extending through these pivot connectors between an upright position which can be used when the lathe user is standing and a sideways position which can be used when the user is sitting. In the upright position, the bedrails are on top of the main support structure.
L'invention concerne un tour pour tourner une pièce à travailler au moyen d'une poupée fixe et d'une contre-poupée, lequel tour comprend un banc de tour ayant une structure de support principal allongé et des rails de banc s'étendant le long d'un côté de la structure, ces rails portant de façon ajustable la contre-poupée. Des supports de montant sont disposés au niveau des extrémités opposées de la structure de support et deux connecteurs à pivotement joignent chacun une extrémité respective des extrémités de banc à un montant de support. Le banc peut être pivoté autour d'un axe horizontal s'étendant à travers ces connecteurs de pivotement entre une position verticale qui peut être utilisée lorsque l'utilisateur du tour est débout et une position sur le côté qui peut être utilisée lorsque l'utilisateur est assis. Dans la position verticale, les rails de banc sont sur la partie supérieure de la structure de support principal.
