A laundry detergent composition and method of providing whitening benefits is described for providing enhanced whitening benefits to washed laundry comprising: (a) a surfactant or surfactant mixture selected from the group consisting of anionic and nonionic surfactants; and (b) a violet polymeric colorant having an absorption wavelength of from 540 to 560 nm; a solubility in water of from about 1 gram per Liter to 20.5 grams per Liter; and wherein the dosage of said violet colorant in the laundry detergent composition is from about 0.006% to about 1.75%.

L'invention concerne une composition de détergent à lessive et un procédé permettant d'obtenir un blanchissage amélioré pour du linge lavé. Cette composition comprend (a) un tensioactif ou un mélange de tensioactifs choisis dans le groupe constitué par des tensioactifs anioniques et non ioniques, et (b) un colorant polymère violet présentant une longueur d'onde d'absorption comprise entre 540 et 560 nm et une hydrosolubilité comprise entre environ 1 gramme par litre et 20 grammes par litre, le dosage de ce colorant violet dans la composition de détergent à lessive étant compris entre environ 0,006% et environ 1,75%.
