Compositions and methods that utilize certain cellulosic based polymer or oligomer materials as fabric treatment agents which can impart fabric appearance and integrity benefits to fabrics and textiles laundered in washing solutions containing such materials. The cellulosic based polymer or oligomer materials can be characterized by general formula: (I) wherein each R is independently selected from the group consisting of R C, R H, and (II). Each R2 is independently selected from the group consisting of H and C1-C4 alkyl. Each R C is (III); and each R H is (IV). The Degree of Substitution for group R H is between about 0.001 and 0.3, and the Degree of Substitution for group R C wherein Z is H or M is between about 0.2 and 2Ø
L'invention concerne des compositions et des procédés utilisant certaines matières de polymères ou d'oligomères cellulosiques comme agents de traitement de tissus qui peuvent conférer un aspect et une intégrité avantageux aux tissus et aux textiles lavés dans des solutions de lavage contenant ces matières. Les matières de polymères ou d'oligomères cellulosiques peuvent être caractérisées par la formule générale suivante (I), dans laquelle R est indépendamment sélectionné dans le groupe constitué par RC, RH et (II); chaque R2 est indépendamment sélectionné dans le groupe constitué par H et un alkyle en C1-C4. Chaque RC est (III); et chaque RH est (IV). Le degré de substitution du groupe RH se situe entre environ 0,001 et 0,3, et le degré de substitution du groupe RC dans lequel Z est H ou M se situe entre environ 0,2 et 2,0.
