This invention relates to a method and an apparatus for humidifying a room. The apparatus is a decorative humidifier comprising a water reservoir, a porous body and pumping means for pumping water from the reservoir to the top of the porous body thereby increasing the surface area over which the water flows. The water then runs down the porous body by gravity infiltrating the pores of the porous body and increasing the surface area over which the water flows. The increase in surface area over which the water flows increases the efficiency of water evaporation and enhances the ambient air humidity without any mechanical means.
L'invention a trait à une méthode et un appareil d'humidification d'une pièce. L'appareil est en fait un humidificateur décoratif comprenant un réservoir d'eau, un corps poreux et un dispositif de pompage de l'eau du réservoir jusqu'à la partie supérieure du corps poreux augmentant ainsi la surface d'écoulement de l'eau. Celle-ci s'écoule alors par gravité depuis la surface poreuse en s'infiltrant dans les pores du corps, augmentant ainsi la surface d'écoulement de l'eau. Le fait d'agrandir la surface d'écoulement de l'eau permet d'améliorer le processus d'évaporation de l'eau et d'augmenter ainsi le degré d'humidité de l'air ambiant sans qu'il soit nécessaire de faire appel à des dispositifs mécaniques.
