The water closet (1) proposed has a housing (2) in which is mounted a pivoting dish-shaped bowl (7) with a seat (8). The bowl (7) can be pivoted from its position of use into a flushing position. Also located in the housing (2) is a cleaning device (20) which cleans the seat (8) and bowl (7) with pressurized water when the bowl is in the flushing position. The cleaning device (20) has a hood (21) surrounding spray nozzles (24, 25, 26) which clean the bowl (7) and seat (8). The hood (21) and the bowl (8) together delimit, with the bowl in the flushing position, a space which is sealed off with a fluid-tight seal from the rest of the housing interior (9). During the cleaning operation, even stubborn soiling adhering to the surface of the seat or to the inside of the bowl can be detached and washed down the waste pipe (10). After cleaning with pressurized water, the bowl (7) and seat (8) are dried with cold or hot air, for which purpose the cleaning device (20) is fitted with a fan.

Pendant le processus de nettoyage, les impuretés adhérant, même de manière persistante, à la surface du siège ou à l'intérieur de la cuvette sont détachées par l'eau sous pression et entraînées dans le tuyau d'évacuation (10). Après nettoyage à l'eau sous pression, la cuvette (7)et le siège (8) sont séchés à l'air froid ou chaud, un ventilateur associé au dispositif de nettoyage (20) étant en outre prévu à cet effet.
