A method for large scale cultivation and attenuation of L. intracellularis bacteria by inoculating cells with L. intracellularis bacteria to infect the cells, incubating the infected cells in a reduced oxygen concentration and maintaining the infected cells in suspension. Anti-L. intracellularis vaccines are prepared from cultures grown in suspension. Diagnostic agents are also disclosed.
Cette invention se rapporte à une méthode permettant de procéder sur une grande échelle à la culture et à l'atténuation de bactéries L. intracellularis, en inocculant à des cellules de telles bactéries L. intracellularis, afin d'infecter ces cellules, en laissant incuber les cellules ainsi infectées dans une concentration d'oxygène réduite et en maintenant les cellules infectées en suspension. Des vaccins contre L. intracellularis sont préparés à partir de cultures développées en suspension. Des agents de diagnostic sont également décrits.
