ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE LAYERED RESIDUA TREATMENT CATALYST PROCESS AND TEMPERATURE PROFILE A process is disclosed for the treatment of hydrocarbonaceous feedstocks having high concentrations of metals and sulfur. The feedstock is contacted with a first catalyst in a first zone and then with a second catalyst in a second zone. The average temperature of the first zone is at least 15°C more than the average tempera- ture of the second zone.
