En utilisation de cette installation, on construit la conduite sur une zone d'atterrage en la munissant de l'équipement con- sistant en des moyens espacés d'allègement et de manutention, on immerge la conduite, on la remorque et on la met en place à la verticale du trace projeté, on remonte éventuellement la conduite à la surface pour toute vérification ou aménagement, on reprend de façon contrôlée et on achève l'immersion et la mise en place, on récupère enfin les moyens d'allègement et de manutention. L'installation précitée, grâce à l'emploi des dispositifs d'allègement et de manutention, abaisse considéra- blement le coût de mise en place des conduites sous-marines.
