A process of leaching a metal value, such as nickel, from a metal laden solid, such as ore. The process includes the steps of contacting the metal laden solid with a leach solution comprising an organic bio-acid to provide a metal value containing leachate. At least the major proportion of the organic bio-acid in the leach solution is malic acid. The leachate is recovered for fur-ther processing to remove the metal value.
L'invention porte sur un procédé de lixiviation d'un métal de valeur, tel que le nickel, à partir d'un solide chargé en métal, tel qu'un minerai. Le procédé comprend les étapes consistant à mettre en contact le solide chargé en métal avec une solution de lixiviation comprenant un bio-acide organique pour fournir un lixiviat contenant le métal de valeur.
