There is provided a lead-free projectile (10, 30, 40, 42, 44) suitable for use as a bullet to be fired from a pistol a rifle. The projectile has a metallic jacket (12, 46) enveloping a metallic core (6). The con is formed from a high purity tin and has deformation properties similar to first of lead based projectiles without the environmental hazards associated with lead.

L'invention porte sur un projectile sans plomb (10, 30, 40, 42, 44) pouvant servir de balle de pistolet ou de carabine et comportant une chemise métallique (12, 46) enveloppant un noyau métallique (16). Le noyau, fait d'étain très pur présente des propriétés de déformation similaires à celles des projectiles à base de plomb, et non pas les risques écologiques associés au plomb.
