ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION The present invention is directed to an auto- matic leaf distribution system for use on a tobacco harvester. The system incorporates an air stream to intermix with leaves being discharged from a supply conveyor and move the leaves towards a storage con- tainer. The boundaries of the air stream are at least partially defined and the path of the air stream is changed by a leaf directing member to distribute leaves throughout a supported container. The position of the leaf directing member is controlled to assure an efficient leaf distribution. The use of air has greatly simplified the mechanics of the system and reduces the probability of leaf damage. The system can easily be adjusted for various on site conditions assuring effective distribution of leaves within a sup- ported container.
