Disclosed is a preferred embodiment of straightening apparatus (100) featuring a pair of adjacent rotary block members (8 and 8') having channels (30 and 30') respectively disposed therein for receiving spaced-apart legs (6 and 6') of a heated leaf spring folded into a substantially flat "U"-shaped configuration as block members (8 and 8') are caused to rotate in unison in opposite directions, inner walls (12 and 12') of channels (30 and 30') respectively engage and urge legs (6 and 6') away from each other whilst outer walls (10 and 10') of channels (30 and 30') respectively are operative to engage and provide support for substantially the entire length of a convex side (26) of a curved section (24) of the folded leg spring effective to prevent warpage thereof during the straightening process.
Dans une forme de réalisation préférée de l'invention, on décrit un appareil de dressage (100) qui présente une paire d'éléments en blocs rotatifs adjacents (8, 8') comportant des canaux (30, 30') ménagés dans les éléments respectifs pour recevoir les pieds écartés (6, 6') de ressorts à lames chauffés pliés dans une configuration en U sensiblement plat, comme les éléments en blocs (8, 8'), et tournant à l'unisson dans des sens contraires. Les parois intérieurs (12, 12') des canaux (30, 30') sont respectivement au contact des pieds (6, 6') et les éloigne l'un de l'autre, tandis que les parois extérieures (10, 10') des canaux (30, 30') fonctionnent respectivement pour se plaquer contre et soutenir sensiblement toute la longueur d'un côté convexe (26) d'une section incurvée (24) du ressort du pied replié, ce qui empêche efficacement le gondolage de ladite section pendant le dressage.
