An adapter for a fluidic connector comprising: a luer adapter having a graduated tube portion, a rib portion wherein a plurality of gripping ribs are provided to assist in providing a reliable connection with a fluidic connector, a sealing flange, an assembly-retaining area, and a connector for connecting to a source; a tether having a first end and a second end, the first end of the tether being connected to the luer adapter at the assembly-retaining area; and a luer cap connected to the second end of the tether adapted to removably attach to the connector.
